pcv valve on 95 bmw 318i?

the hose from the valve cover to the pcv has deteriorated, small pieces of plastic from inside of the hose is falling off, could it get inside my intake and pcv valve and could it affect the performance of the car? what would it do? its currently cutting out and puttering when i hit the gas and accelorate and other times it goes just fine. just put a new o2 sensor in it and the check engine light is no longer on though.

okay very common problem .. im guessing your car has anywhere from 70k to 100k on it now.. well what will happen if you dont replace this is oil will actually get forced into your intake manifold and your car will slowly start to burn oil and you will ruin your gaskets inside your intake manifold and within your engine and head seals .... also what will be bad in your car at this point is your oil seperator if your model has one.. wise to replace that at this point to since its very close by.. and get those hoses replaced of course.. but you should be fine after this quick fix... okay for this you should have around 1,500 dollars available to complete the job at bmw deal.. if ur under warranty your all set
