golf advice for lining up and aiming iron shots?
I enjoy playing golf, however I get frustrated with myself when shots are off target. Does anyone have any advice on aiming iron shots? How about lining up the ball for iron shots? Sometimes I line the ball up with my front foot, sometimes the back, Whyat effect does this have, if any?
Line up behind your ball and get a line between the ball and the target. Then from this position choose something (a leaf, blade of grass, mark on the turf) about 12" to 36" in front of your ball.
Now address your ball and ensure that the blade is square to the blade of grass/leaf/mark etc and that your toe line is parallel to your ball to target line.
Ignore the actual target, flag or fairway, and try to get the club head to deliver the ball directly over your leaf/mark/blade of grass.
It also helps to ignore the ball and allow the club to simply swing through it on the target line.
